Incremental encoders make use of highly accurately produced optical disc with a regular pattern in the form of lines which are etched on glass. Our encoders generate three signals by photoelectric scanning of the disc. The number of measuring steps per revolution is determined by the line count of the radial graduations and the signal evaluation element of the electronics. The encoders can provide a reference mark signal to re-establish a datum.
